Close-up of Kelgai Ann waterlily dahlia with creamy blush, soft pink, and rose-streaked petals in the garden

Kelgai Ann Dahlia

Kelgai Ann is an exceptionally delicate waterlily dahlia, with creamy blush petals brushed and streaked in soft pink. The gently cupped petals open into an airy, dreamlike flower that looks almost too graceful to be a dahlia. Its unusual form and quiet color draw people in—some visitors do not recognize it as a dahlia at all.

Why We Grow It: Kelgai Ann is worth the effort. She does not produce many tubers for us, but no other waterlily in our field feels quite as delicate or dreamlike. The layered petals are so soft and unusual that visitors sometimes do not recognize her as a dahlia at all—and that quiet surprise is exactly why we keep making room for her.
