Sugartown Sunrise

Sugartown Sunrise Dahlia

Sugartown Sunrise is an irresistibly cheerful formal decorative dahlia, with soft pink petals warming toward apricot and coral around a glowing creamy-yellow center. The colors blend differently from bloom to bloom, giving the flowers the luminous, sunlit quality that makes this variety so charming.

The compact, neatly layered blooms are especially lovely for cutting, where their warm pastel coloring slips easily into pink, peach, yellow, and soft garden-inspired palettes. Introduced in 1999, Sugartown Sunrise has become a favorite among cut-flower growers for good reason: it combines distinctive coloring with a productive plant and long, useful stems.

  • Form: Formal Decorative (FD)
  • Color: Soft Pink / Apricot / Creamy Yellow
  • Bloom Size: M (2-3")
  • Height: ~5.5 ft
  • Ideal For: Cut Flower Gardens, Cheerful Palettes, Floral Design
  • You May Also Like: Blah Blah Blah, Coralie, Oreti Adele
  • Featured In These Collections: New Products, Pink Dahlias, Decorative Dahlias

Why We Grow It: This one simply makes us happy. We grew Sugartown Sunrise for two seasons before finally offering tubers, and its warm, glowing blooms have earned a permanent place in our field. The combination of pink, apricot, and creamy yellow is cheerful without being loud, and every flower seems to catch the light a little differently. Add in its usefulness as a cut flower, and this is exactly the kind of dahlia we love to grow: beautiful, distinctive, and genuinely useful.

Growing Tips: For detailed planting, staking, watering, and overwintering advice, visit our How to Grow Dahlias guide.
